Silver Lake was initially home to the first recreational grove called Lovejoy’s Grove on the northern shore of Silver Lake, which became Morrill’s Grove. Then, Silver Lake Corporation, was created until it finally became Silver Lake State Park. Wallace’s Grove on the southern end of the Lake was another very popular vacationing spot for many in New England
